Anyone who knows anything about the art of tattooing, especially those who are/know tattoo artists, plz help!?
What advise would you give for me fufilling my dream of being a tattoo artist?
i’m 15 and try my best in graphics and art, and everything else as i realise all subjects are important, i also practise drawing lots, and look at tattoo designs on the net.
and i watch miami ink… what other good tat. magazines/books/shows are there??
and just any advise really

i did a speech in college on tattooing, i found most of the info online, looking at the history of it and how it started and who started it and how it evolved, very intresting stuff. you cant find pretty much anything you need on the internet nowadays!
Keep drawing.. A LOT!
Learn your history, religion, culture, language and what not. You will get a lot of requests for foreign material no matter what category. You will get a lot of religious tattoos and you want to know your stuff. If they think they’re right and you listen to them and they were wrong and find out.. they will be pissed at you.
So keep drawing and read/learn all you can about nearly everything.. I know that sounds ridiculous.
And then when you turn 18 go check out your local shops and show some respectable artists your portfolio.. tell them you want to be in the business.Ask for an apprenticeship. They will most likely tell you "No" at first but keep persistent. Go in there about 1-2 times a week and ask for tips.. ask if they’re ready to apprentice you. It may sound like you will annoy them, but they are dedicating time and money into their apprentices and they want to be sure that you’re sure you want it.
