First of all you shouldn’t tattoo yourself unless your a professional tattoo artist or at least an apprentice and it’s done with the proper equipment

And secondly Tattoo ink is made from metals so you can never use cheap ink that is meant for use on paper

Skin and paper are NOT the same

First off, it is definately NOT a good idea to give yourself a tattoo. That being said, no, you cannot use those inks in tattooing. They are not designed to be injected into the skin, so using them in a tattoo can lead to rejection, infection, and nasty scarring.

Why would anyone want something that looks like a prison tattoo?

If you do a search on here you’ll see most people who do these do it yourself tattoos are normally on here asking how to get rid of it after it’s done. Save up some money and let a professional do their job.

No it’s not ok. You could get ink poisoning if you do it your self. Just go to a professional tattoo artist to do it.

i’m on my fourth tat, and i’m only going to shops. for my last tat the person didn’t use a quality ink so it started to fade and the colors started to run together in about a year. thankfully i was able to go back to the same shop and get someone to redo the tat for free with better ink. with that said, why would you permanently scar yourself with something that is going to fade and you’re going to have to/want to pay to fix later? just save for a tat. or if you’re really pressed, go to a tat apprentice and see if they’ll do it for free or at a discount.

    Let’s not do this, okay?

First of all, no. No it isn’t. You could have an allergic reaction to any number of the elements in ball point pen ink, and you have no way of sterilizing equipment at home. And no, alcohol and a flame do not count as sterilizing.

Second of all, we don’t support scratchers here. We can’t. You know why? Because we give a d@mn about your tattoos and your health.

Basically, if you do a DIY job you are not only asking for an allergic reaction and a bad tattoo, you are also asking for any number of a host of skin infections and blood infections. Not pretty. Very expensive medications. No fun. Then, when you are all done being sick, you get to go to a professional tattoo artist to cover it up, who will laugh at you for trying to ink yourself.

I say none of this to be mean. I say all of it because I hope that you are smarter than that. Please be safe and smart, love.

Id make your own ink w/ baby oil. At least you know that its sanitary. And paper mate ink will last about 2 weeks before it scabs out (yes, i know because ive tried, but when i was 13. how old are you?) and then a few years later youll have a funky little spot that wont tan. If you have to use ink get some sealed calligraphy ink from an art store. But seriously, just go to a shop. its sanitary, better quality, and just all around smarter. Or at least buy your own gun and tat ink.
