Sooooo I take it you never saw Young Adult, Source Code, The Descendants, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Higher Ground, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, or Hugo.

@BunnyMan456 Sooo I did see Source Code, The Descendants & Hugo. I have yet to see the rest, and I don’t have much interest in Young Adult, another than the fact that Reitman directed it. And Werner’s doesn’t count since it’s a documentary. Sorry you disagree with my choices, you should make a video of your own.

@grindhouse141 I just disagree that the year was painfully weak, especially considering 2009. Be interested in Young Adult. Great channel! I hope for more Scorsese commentaries.

@BunnyMan456 2009 was weak? Inglourious Basterds, Public Enemies, A Serious Man, A Single Man, Up in the Air, Bronson….. I’m going to have to disagree with you there.

@grindhouse141 You know, last year I made a list of all the best/most notable movies from every year of every decade and I discovered that no particular year is ever really that weak. But I think we can agree that with next year’s lineup, any movie lover could die happy at the end of 2012.

@grindhouse141 Wow was GWTDT better than Drive? I thought Drive was almost a perfect film….

@bkmenor808 It’s really hard to say. This year is the first year in recent memory where there hasn’t been a clear winner. I think Drive & Dragon Tattoo are the two best but I really can’t pick between them. I would have to see Dragon Tattoo again before I could even begin to think about which is better. But they are both films that get into your head and stay there for days, if not weeks after you see them.

@grindhouse141 Yeah I know what you mean. Drive totally stuck with me after I saw it too. It was like watching a painting come to life, so hauntingly beautiful, not to mention the superb acting. I haven’t seen Dragon Tattoo yet but I’m coming in with high expectations!

@bkmenor808 It’s always best to go in with lower expectations since it’s so easy to be disappointed. That’s why I’ll have to see it again before I can fully appreciate it. I remember when I saw Drive for the 1st time and I so disappointed. But I really wanted to appreciate it and so I went to go see it again the next day and I fucking loved it. So while I thought Dragon Tattoo was great, it didn’t knock me out like I thought it would. Hopefully it will the 2nd time.

@grindhouse141 Interesting. It only took one viewing for me to fall in love with Drive. And I also went into that movie with high expectations. But you’re right, the lower the expectations, the better. I haven’t seen Shame yet but I really want to. Looks like a brilliant character study, am I right?
