should i remove my tattoo to get into the coast gaurd?
i recently went to meet a recruiter to join the coast guard.. every thing was fine until i told her i had a tottoo on the back of my neck, so if i wear a t-shirt it’s visiable and they can’t accept me for that reason. i don’t wnat to join the army, air force or any other armed services because i want to stay in the states- should i get the tattoo removed so i can persue my career in the coast guard or is this a sign to not join? please help.
It is a new rule where no one in the military can have tattoes showing. You can have them as long as you can’t see them. For the ones who already have them they were grandfathered in.
Well, is it a sign to not join? I’ll make you a deal: if you can jump out of an airplane(static line jump), then you should join the coast guard. Is this a sign? If you have a free spirited personality stay the heck away from the military, PERIOD! If you are ready to forget yourself, for four years, then join. If you join, be the last to quit on a mission, the last to bed, the first to arise, the last to leave base, the first to return. With this attitude, you will succeed. 50% of success is merely showing up. Inspiration never lasts. Being able to function in the most depressed mode of thought will be your lot in boot camp. This marks the winner.
