My husband branded a small heart on his wrist when he was 19 and depressed (before we dated). At age 30, I decided to get a heart tattooed on my wrist to show that we’re not alone. This was after 10 years together, 7 of which married. He had also just tattooed his wedding band on, since he hates wearing rings and lost 2 of them.

When you do get the tattoo, I would get something meaningful and symbolic, but also simple. Only you will know what that is.

Talk to him about something that you believe represents your relationship. It could be something you had around you when you met, or something you both have a very good interest in.

That is definitely a tricky one. Perhaps something that interests him, or a symbol that you associate with him. Or something to do with your little girl that can also represent him.

A heart with his initials inside. If 30 years from now you aren’t still with him you could have the heart filled in with a darker solid colour.

Sorry to seem pessimistic but when you get together these days the odds are definitely not in your favour, especially if you’re marrying so young.

You could get his chinese horoscope picture tattooed. You could get it in your own style, not just the standard looking boring picture. I wouldn’t get actual chinese writing unless you are fluent.

You could get his birth co-ordinates, along with your daughters & yours (like Angelina did for her kids)

Honestly…to get something this soon and you’re not yet married…? Hmmm….no. Get your daughter’s name – that’s it. Trust me…I’ve been married for nearly 20 years and have my dog’s pic tatted on my arm. But nothing regarding my hubby. (Dog got killed 2 yrs ago & it crushed me). I may get hubby’s name tatted one day. perhaps when we celebrate 25 years together. Not sure. You are too young BUT VERY wise in NOT wanting to get his name tatted. Just go with your daughters for now.

If you are absolutely certain that you want something on your body that may remind you later of someone (since sometimes the impossible seems to happen, I’ve been left heartbroken by men who I knew I’d be with forever), I’d go with either a kanji symbol of something you call him. You could also go with something you both like; i.e. dragons if you both like it. Or maybe something that reminds you of his personality. Beautiful but ferocious, a tiger; sweet and cuddly, a teddy bear, ect. Hope you can find something! =)

Have his initials hidden in some other design like i have a rose on my foot and hidden inside the rose is JMO (my nieces initials) i didn’t want go all out and get them in plain sight so i had then hidden, this way if you guys god forbid don’t work out of something then you Still have a beautiful design
